I remember sitting in department stores, thinking every section my parents shopped in would be the last one before we got to leave and go home. But there were always more.
The one ray of hope in those consumer hell-holes? The toy department – 3rd floor – where they had recently taken delivery of some demo units made by a small Japanese toy manufacturer called ‘Nintendo’ who apparently had something really special in store…..
That sounds amazing, you are so lucky! When my parents took us out to shop, they said we could bring toys along, but when we got there, we had to leave them in the car–it made no sense!!
And in fact seeing this near the start of my bus ride reminded me to do some concept roughs for a project instead of idling it away with facetwitplusjournal…
I really think it’s that, and just so much information and stimulation to process. The crazy thing is that it’s everywhere. Sometime’s it hard to even try to get bored.
Man. I can totally relate.

Spot on, Gabe!
It felt like time stopped. It feels like part of me is still there waiting.
I usually had a book or a sketchbook, at least.

It’s weird, but lately I’ve found that I just never get bored. Maybe it’s because of the iPhone or something? It’s very strange.
