I once had a violin as a tyke, I don’t know what my parents were thinking at the time, but they must’ve thought I was going to be a child prodigy instantly and I never really learned how to play the thing!
The highlight of my time with the orchestra in school was the concerts we did. The down side was we only ever did two a year. After a while I just lost intrest because it wasn’t worth it if we only did two concerts a year. Our high school band did 8.
My father found a greek bouzouki (gourd-guitar) and did much the same thing. It was horrible the sounds he would create.
But it reminded him of home, and it was very nice looking. Thank God the strings finally broke.
Wow. That sounds amazing, it not too amazing if it sounds crappy!
I have my old Violin from my days in school. I have no idea if it’s even in tune. I should break it out and play it sometime…
Bring it back!
It was loads of FUN, Son!
You were pretty good Dad!

Wow, too bad you weren’t in band. I personally was in both, so it seemed like there was a concert or a parade every couple weeks!
