“Sweet Potatoes” Inks
Here’s a good example of what you should concentrate on when doing inks, keeping the energy of the original rough while simultaneously keeping the character looking like the character.
You can tell that looking at this, I changed his eye line slightly. This was because I wanted it to work better with the scene right before. You can also tell when you look at the rough, the details just aren’t important, it’s the feeling. It didn’t matter that the mouth really wasn’t drawn in the snout shape or that the shoulders aren’t attached to the body. These are the things I leave to change in the inking.
