This is “Analog Agent Benjamin” coming at you this week with…. Twinkies

With Hostess closing its doors for good, I thought now would be a good time to talk about the classic snack food they use to make called The Twinkie.

Hostess also made other well known snack foods like Ding Dongs (I think they were later renamed as Hostess Cup Cakes) and Fruit Pies.

I remember eating some of Hostess stuff as a kid, and I must say it was not as good as it was advertised. Other then the Ding Dongs/Cup Cakes, The Twinkies tasted like a plane cake with whip cream stuffed into it.

What were your memories of the Twinkies? Do you feel said that they may be gone for good?

Don’t worry, someone’ll come by and scoop up the branding rights and bring them out again.

  2. Peter says:

Hostess CupCakes are not now, nor were they ever, Ding Dongs.

  3. Big Mike says:

I just tried “Cloud Cakes” by little Debbie. They remind me of the Twinkies I ate when I was young. (60’s-70’s) I will miss the Ding Dongs, especially frozen.
