Remember cassette tapes? Back before the days of CDs and mp3s? Remember the freedom you had of being able to easily record copies of your music or songs off the radio? You could be creative and make mixtapes. They sounded pretty good, well, the “metal” ones did. They were small, compact, and sometimes squeaky. You had to actually wait while fast forwarding and flipping the tape over to get to the song you wanted, but cool to have “song loops” across the sides.

Tapes were great, but also had some major drawbacks besides the fact that the more you listen to them the quality got worse, they would also get tangled or rip. That’s when you broke out the pencil or the scotch tape…
