I have no idea what these things are actually called, but they were cool. They were one of the weirder school supplies to come out of the 80’s. They were pencils that had mutilple tips and when one wore out, you pulled it out the front and put it in the back, cycling all the tips through the pencil. Some pencils had multiple colored tips too so you could change your colors.

One of the weird things about it was when you pushed the tips in, they moved really slow and smoothly. I think it’s because of the soft plastic that the tips were made out of.

Now, the the idea was sound, multiple tips, cool, but what happened when you lost one of those dangerously sharp tips? Well the whole pencil was rendered useless, that’s what.

Oh well, I guess back to the pencil sharpener.

I actually found one of those things sitting around awhile back and added it to my supplies, but I’ve never actually used it. What an odd invention, that thing.

I remember using these, but never particularly cared for me, favoring to stick to classic wooden pencils like a real man!
