We had a rotor, which was a panel with a dial in it that turned the antenna on the roof. It was like something out of the future! It never worked very well but the sound it made when it was turning is permanently implanted in my brain! Lovin’ Analog Age, keep it up!

We were lucky to get 4 channels over the airwaves on our wooden boxed analog TV that sat on the floor. It had those knobs for vert, horiz that kept you busy ever second. That said, my brother and I spent more time at the playground.

  3. Our motor on the rotory antenna was broke. We couldn’t even adjust it when the channel was fuzzy. Only thing you could do was pray for a clear day.. Of course that’s when the parents would kick us out of the house

Oh, but when you somehow got 18 seconds of Skinemax backwards, negative, and w/non-stop scrolling that was enough to keep you trying for 3 hrs. more 😀

Hahaha, good old days… Back then it didn’t bother me because that was “normal.” But now, I get easily irritated when I don’t get the channels I want to see 😉

Had a good laugh at this one. I feel your pain.

So glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore! 🙂
